general skilled migrant

This category is for people who are not sponsored by an employer and have skills in particular occupations required in Australia. This visa is for applicants over 18 years of age and under the age of 45 with good English language ability and recent work experience or a recently completed eligible Australian qualification. Applicants must pass a set points test in order to qualify for these visas but those who are sponsored by a participating State or family member are required to pass a lower points test.

Employed Workers

Australian employers are able to sponsor and employ skilled workers temporarily or permanently who have recent qualifications and skills/or experience in a particular occupation.

Parental Visas

These visas enable parents to migrate to Australia to join their children who are living in Australia permanently. This visa is for you if you have a child or step-child who is a settled Australian citizen, settled permanent resident or settled eligible New Zealand citizen and at least 50% of your children are permanent residents in Australia or you have more children in Australia than any other country.

working holiday visas

Working holiday and work and holiday programs allow young people (aged 18 – 30) to have an extended holiday supplemented by short term employment. Countries participating in this program and eligible passport holders are: Belgium, Canada, Republic of Cyprus, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Republic of Ireland, Italy, Japan, Republic of Korea, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Taiwan and the United Kingdom.

Partners and fiancés of Australian citizens, Australian permanent residents or eligible New Zealand citizens may apply to enter and/or remain permanently in Australia. Partners and fiancés include people intending to get married (fiancés), married (de jure) partners or de facto partners (including same sex relationships).
